Talk:Submissions/The Brazil Catalyst Program: learnings, challenges and opportunities for the Wikimedia Movement

See my comments about the Hindi presentation and Afrikaans presentation. This presentation seems to have the element of lessons learned to improve content. also, I would like to hear about the method to calculate metrics. Maybe the metrics could be used on other language projects? Geraldshields11 (talk) 13:02, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Geraldshields11, I'm so, so sorry I didn't reply earlier. I don't know how I didn't see this. And thank you so much for your comment. That's a very tough one and metrics on quality content are still an issue. There has been an interesting conversation this year in the education list about it. We haven't been using all the possible, theoretically available methodologies, but I could list some of what we have discussed:
  • Not reverted / not deleted content
  • Content added along with existing and reliable references
  • Evaluation from professors (balance, objectiveness, accuracy, language/style)
  • Community assessment o quality of articles (this requires community engagement / availability / interest to happen)
  • Bytes added (bytes are no guarantee of quality, but if combined with other element, is acceptable as one variable of it)
