Talk:Submissions/Children can have their own Wikipedia, the Vikidia experience

From Wikimania 2014 • London, United Kingdom

Nice idea but it creates a walled garden of a literate child's playground. It would be better to recruit the children to proofread the main wikis. Geraldshields11 (talk) 19:39, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Users on Vikidia (and among them children) are free to edit another wiki in the same time or when they get older, there is no walled garden unless your parents or school would have filtered out Wikipedia and only allowed this wiki and other children website actually ! See:
However, as we become more familiar with the basic ideas in a field, we become able – whatever our age – to explore and better comprehend ever more complex documentation. A child that is impassioned by archaeology would certainly take advantage of Wikipedia articles or even subsequently specialized articles if they do not contain too much technical jargon. ([1]).
