Join the Open Knowledge Foundation, PLoS, eLife and the Wellcome Trust at the next London Open Drinks, taking place on Tuesday 12 August 2014. We've booked space at El Vino Wine Bar, 125 London Wall, 3 Bastion Highwalk, London EC2Y 5AP (the bar is up the escalators adjacent to 125 London Wall). We have the space from 18:00-close and £100 has been put behind the bar to start us off (so it pays to get there early..). The venue is in the shadow of the Barbican Centre, which is hosting WikiMania 2014 over the preceding weekend (8-10 Aug).

London Open Drinks is a (very!) informal get together for anyone with professional or personal interests in Open Access, Open Data, Open Knowledge, and Open Anything Else. Previous events have attracted around 30 people, most of whom work in and around the sciences (including researchers, publishers, funders, journalists). We want to actively encourage interaction between interested parties who might not otherwise come into contact.

For information on how to find us please visit our website, and follow us on Twitter for more details as the night approaches.

If you have any questions about the event please direct them to the Wellcome Trust’s Adam Dinsmore at a.dinsmore@wellcome.ac.uk.

  • I'd really like to attend, but have to leave London on Tuesday morning. Daniel Mietchen (talk) 02:53, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • That's a shame Daniel, if you're usually based in London keep an eye on the Twitter account for details of future OpenDrinks (we try to have one every two months or so). Adam Dinsmore 09:59, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
