There will be an informal meetup for people interested in volunteering at Wikimania on 2 July 2014 in the Food Hall on the ground floor of the Barbican.

What is it?

The lakeside terrace at the Barbican Centre - we'll be here in good weather, if its cold or wet we'll be in the food hall (the single storey white area)

The volunteer drinks session is an opportunity for volunteers to get to know each other and the Wikimania team informally before the conference.

The session will start with an optional but recommended tour of the Barbican centre, so that you can get a feel for the layout of the centre and how the conference will operate. This will be followed by a social session in the food hall (or outside on the lakeside terrace if the weather is nice) where you can ask any questions, discuss matters related to volunteering at Wikimania and the running of the conference and get to know people.

Everybody is welcome, and the event is free to attend - we'll cover the cost of nibbles and at least one soft drink for everyone.

We're meeting at the food hall on level G in the Barbican Centre before the tour, and will return there afterwards - we may be sitting outside on the lakeside terrace in good weather. Look for the Wikimedia UK banner on the table and one or more people wearing Wikimedia UK or Wikipedia t-shirts.

When is it?

This session is on Wednesday 2 July 2014, meeting at 18:30 with the tour starting at 19:00.

If you can't make this one, we will be holding further events throughout July - feel free to attend as many as you want.
