Time in its irresistible and ceaseless flow carries along on its flood all created things and drowns them in the depths of obscurity.... But the tale of history forms a very strong bulwark against the stream of time, and checks in some measure its irresistible flow, so that, of all things done in it, as many as history has taken over it secures and binds together, and does not allow them to slip away into the abyss of oblivion.
My name is Kirill Lokshin, and I was a Wikimedian for 17 years. I was an administrator on the English Wikipedia (2005–2021), and served on its Arbitration Committee (2007–2009, 2010–2013, 2016–2017) and as the first lead coordinator of its Military History WikiProject (2006–2008).
I was one of the founders of Wikimedia District of Columbia, and served on its Board of Directors (2011–2022, as secretary from 2011 to 2015 and as president from 2015 to 2022).
