The cost of getting a visa to visit the UK is huge especially and even more so when including multiple visits to the nearest consulate for the interviews, and even then is sometimes declined with no refund of the processing fee. In some countries, even Thailand, this will exclude a visit to Wikimania to all but the academic and industrial elite.I would be interested to learn more about any fast-tracking visa procedures the UK government has for visitors to the UK for conferences of this kind. --Kudpung (talk) 06:12, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

When shall I get the Visa recommendation letter?

We have requested to the stated email but yet not received any visa recommendation letter. When shall I receive the visa recommendation letter? Since the British Embassy requires sufficient time for visa processing, we are getting late to apply.--Ganesh Paudel (talk) 07:54, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

I would suggest putting this question to the Wikimania:Information Desk as I don't think this talk page gets a lot of traffic. If you don't get an answer there I can ping some users who might be better placed than me to help you out. In any case, you don't seem to be the only one with this issue.
