- The Wikimedia Armenia chapter was founded in May, 2013. During its first year, it has organized and participated in various projects and events. The highlights of which are:
- Changed copyright law to introduce freedom of Panorama. This has allowed us to:
- participate in "Wiki loves monuments" project, during which nearly 24,000 photos were uploaded to Wikicommons
- scan and add to wikisource various Armenian encyclopedias, which has been a source for articles generated by a large community
- Various efforts aimed at recruiting editors and contributors of articles
- We have started an educational program with 6 high schools, resulting in more than 1300 articles created by the students
- In universities, conducted special trainings for PhD students, so they contribute to Wikipedia
- Collaborated with the Wikimedia chapters of Ukraine and Estonia, and recruited individuals of Armenian descent to contribute to their corresponding Wikipedia-s.
- Are in the process of organizing wikicamp for students who are active participants in Armenia and other international chapters
- Organized training chapters and wikiclub in various large cities throughout Armenia
- Lessons learned will be shared during the presentation
