Printed matters/Booklet

From Wikimania 2014 • London, United Kingdom

This page is to assemble the materials required in the printed conference booklet. It deals only with content and ordering, not with design, so do not spend time trying to make anything here pretty! The only design consideration you can use here is pagebreaks, and even then they may be overridden by the designer.

Emergency Numbers

Should an emergency happen, use the numbers below. They can be dialed free of charge from any fixed or mobile phones.

  • 112 or 999: You can call 112 in order to reach emergency services (ambulance, fire and rescue, police)
  • 111: You can call 111 when you need medical help or advice fast but it’s not a life threatening emergency. This will put you in touch with a health professional from the NHS (UK National Health Services)
  • 101: You should call 101 to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response (Theft, property damage...)

First Aid

Should you need immediate assistance during the conference, you will find First Aid points at the following locations: You can also call for First Aid on:

Maps

  • Barbican Visitor information: How do I get there All of London's major airports have direct train links (examples include Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Express) into the center of the city from which local transportation is available. The nearest tube station to The Barbican is called "Barbican", however the venue is also within walking distance of Moorgate, Liverpool Street and St Paul's stations.
  • The Barbican Area
  • Barbican Zones: Blue = sessions, Yellow = breakout / hackathon, Red = exhibition / catering

The Venue

  • [1] About the Barbican: The Barbican exists to inspire people to discover and love the arts. We innovate with outstanding artists and performers to create an international programme that crosses art forms, investing in the artists of today and tomorrow.

A world-class arts and learning organisation, the Barbican pushes the boundaries of all major art forms including dance, film, music, theatre and visual arts. Over 1.8 million people pass through our doors every year alongside hundreds of artists and performers from across the globe, while our creative learning programme underpins everything we do. The City of London Corporation is the owner, founder and principal funder of the Barbican Centre.
